Solitary... by solstafirphotography

Solitary Sunset from Lake Bonney is always a great experience, even when the skies are clear. I fell in love with this composition as soon as I saw it and took some night shots from this spot as well which are yet to be edited.nice wallpaper picture free download via 500px http://ift.tt/1Gh1PhT

If you are interested in joining Ted Gore and I on a spring workshop around Oregon and the Columbia River Gorge.. SWEET! Due to demand we just added a second session from May 13th to May 17th. Only ONE spot remains! You can check out more info here: Spring in Oregon Follow me on Facebook Follow me on Instagram Check out my website Sign up for my newsletter ======= This is a photo of some rare conditions at a remote salt lake. What makes this even MORE rare, for me, is that it's not in Oregon, USA. Anyone familiar with my work associates me with Oregon and the Pacific Northwest. In my short time focusing on the art of landscape photography, I have not had a lot of opportunity to venture too far from home, and when I do, it usually requires something akin to every star and planet in the universe aligning. I have had a very strong urge to shoot something DIFFERENT, not just for my portfolio... but also for my heart and mind. While I absolutely love Oregon and all of the diversity it offers... I needed to see different things. I needed a challenge. I needed a photography trip with a couple of my best friends. So leave it to Ted Gore and Erin Babnik to convince me of giving the herculean effort of sneaking away for a week a whirl. As luck would have it, everything fell into place and weeks later we found ourselves here. I have to say.. I hadn't felt that great in as long as I could remember. Maybe it was finally getting away from the race of life, maybe it was the whole sleeping in a tent in the middle of nowhere under the stars thing, maybe it was because I was eating healthier and laughing constantly, maybe it was poking fun at each other while we froze our asses off in the dark and sweat our asses off during the day, or maybe it was just.. all of it. Every. Single. Thing. Yes.. even the naked hippies, the high winds blowing sand through my tent and into my face all night long (a great exfoliant, by the way), the empty handed scouts, the mudfest, and the whole 'getting stranded in the middle of the desert with two flat tires' thing (you can check out the video here: CLICK!) were moments that I cherished and will never forget. I'm glad that this image is the one that marks my first out of Oregon. Just looking at this shot takes me back to so many aspects of that trip. Thanks to Ted and Erin for the experience. I love you guys!nice wallpaper picture free download via 500px http://ift.tt/1HBtxnH

website || facebook I got a chance to see Crater Lake in fresh snow. No snowballs were thrown. No snowman armies were raised. I didn't even pee my name in the snow. I just took this picture and left. If you like the way my images look, I'm offering Skype photoshop tutorials. Visit my website for info.nice wallpaper picture free download via 500px http://ift.tt/1xWws5b

Frosted Footprint by TedGore

If you are interested in joining TJ Thorne and I on a workshop in the Columbia River Gorge, we have opened up a second workshop on the dates May 13th-17th due to demand, and have two spots left. Please find more information HERE Really interesting conditions at Bow Lake in the Canadian Rockies on this particularly frigid morning where the temperatures dipped down to around -25c. The coldest termperatures I have yet to experience. So cold in fact, that my tripod refused to work... the telescoping legs stopped telescoping, frozen in place from tiny amounts of condensation inside the bushings. It was a Gitzo. Don't buy a Gitzo. I was with Justin Grimm(who was appropriately nick named 'Ginsu' on this trip... have you seen how sharp his images are? Have you seen him work a focus stack? It's a sight to behold), and Erin Babnik. Justin also had a Gitzo that was frozen solid. Erin has an RRS, which worked like a champ. I had to shoot this shot entirely hand held, laying stomach down on the ground, up on my elbows, trying to pull off a clean focus stack. It wasn't super clean, but good enough. I now have an RRS. :D Anyway, yes, it was cold, very cold, causing all of these frosty ice crystal flowers(aka hoar frost) top pop up all along the shore of Bow Lake. It was just what we were looking for, and fortuitous being that for a couple weeks prior, there had been no weather, and unseasonably warm. The conditions made us all pretty happy, not to mention the misty awesome goodness that was floating through, giving Crowfoot mountain something to dive in and out of obscurity. All in all a fantastic morning, and definitely the standout moment of our brief visit.nice wallpaper picture free download via 500px http://ift.tt/1HuxRVK

Shining through by Nordhaug-photography

Shining through. Lofoten, Norway, feb 2015. We had been scouting this location for several days. The weather was mostly overcast with intermittent heavy snow-showers and we got a few good pictures of the icy lake and dramatic mountains. This particular morning, the forecast promised better conditions with periodes of clear skies. We headed here to capture a dramatic transition when the sun shined through. After a long wait the skies suddenly started to clear and we got what we hoped for.nice wallpaper picture free download via 500px http://ift.tt/1C7lRtc
