Midnight Spectacle by dwnphoto

This is a single exposure of a fjord landscape in Norway. Tried to capture the layers of mountains while lit up by the glowing sunset to the north (sets to the north mid summer). A very wide dynamic range scene, but didn't do any bracketing. Exposed for the highlights and let the shadows pretty much block up. Thus leaving the focal point on the end of the fjord, where the last rays from the sun was still glowing. Not really a need for much detail in all that muddy vegetation without any good light on it. Post processing inspired by a painter local to the area and famous for this scenery, Hence I tried to achieve a painterly feel with bold complimenting colors. Image is shot at 70mm, which was the longest focal length I had with me. If I had planned it better, I would have brought the 70-200 to isolate the center even more. That's for next time I guess, lesson learned. All comments appreciated & thanks for viewing.nice wallpaper picture free download via 500px http://ift.tt/1F5vLu4
